Welcome aboard! Setting up your first hosting account is easier than you might think. This guide walks you through the first steps, from the moment your order is confirmed to seeing your website live.
What happens after you order
Once your order is confirmed and payment is received, we provision your hosting account automatically. You will receive a welcome email with your account details, and everything becomes available inside your Hostbox dashboard. This usually takes only a few minutes.
Keep your welcome email safe. It contains important details like your server name and control panel links that you may need later.
Accessing your dashboard and login details
Your Hostbox dashboard is your home base. From there you can manage your services, view invoices, and open your hosting control panel.
Sign in with the email and password you used when you ordered.
Select your hosting plan to see your control panel login, server IP, and FTP details.
Click through to your control panel to manage files, email, and databases.
How to upload your website
You have two easy options:
- File Manager: A browser-based tool in your control panel. Upload your files into the
public_htmlfolder and your site goes live. - FTP / SFTP: Use a free app like FileZilla. Enter your server hostname, FTP username, and password (all found in your dashboard) and drag your files across.
Picking a PHP version
Most modern websites, including WordPress, run best on a recent PHP version. In your control panel, look for the PHP selector and choose a supported, up-to-date version (for example PHP 8.x). Newer versions are faster and more secure.
