Set up email accounts for your domain

1 min readUpdated 23 Jun 2026

A professional email address like you@yourdomain.com builds trust and keeps your business communication tied to your own brand instead of a generic provider. With Hostbox hosting, you can create mailboxes for your domain in just a few minutes.

Create a mailbox

Mailboxes are managed from your Hostbox dashboard.

1
Open email settings

Sign in to your dashboard and find the email section of your control panel.

2
Add a new address

Create a new mailbox, for example you@yourdomain.com, and set a strong password.

3
Save and test

Save the mailbox, then send yourself a test message to confirm it works.

Use a long, unique password for each mailbox. Email accounts are a common target, and a weak password puts your whole inbox at risk.

Read your mail in webmail

The quickest way to check a new mailbox is webmail. Open the webmail link from your control panel, log in with the full email address and its password, and you can read and send messages from any browser.

Connect a phone or desktop app

To use the mailbox in an app like Apple Mail, Outlook, or Gmail, add an account using IMAP for incoming mail and SMTP for outgoing mail.

Incoming (IMAP)
  Server: mail.yourdomain.com
  Port: 993
  Security: SSL/TLS

Outgoing (SMTP)
  Server: mail.yourdomain.com
  Port: 465
  Security: SSL/TLS

Username: you@yourdomain.com
Password: your mailbox password

IMAP keeps your mail in sync across every device, so a message you read on your phone also shows as read on your laptop.

Cut down on spam

Avoid posting your address publicly in plain text, never reply to suspicious messages, and mark junk as spam so filtering improves over time. If you need a hand, our team is at /support and more guides live at /knowledgebase.
